U.S. The Navy Blue Angels are the center of attention this year. They're actually booked for the Milwaukee Air Show in 2020, but, you know what.

The Top 10 Fighter Jets In The World

This is the first show in three years, said Paul Rogers, founder and president of the Milwaukee Air and Water Show. Challenge yourself to do that."

Rogers said the continued support of title sponsor Waterstone Bank over the long delay was crucial to the airshow's return this year: "If it wasn't for them, the airshow wouldn't exist."

The Milwaukee Air Show runs July 23-24, with the same schedule both days. Gates open at 9 a.m., the water show runs from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and the air show runs from noon to 4 p.m.

To get a glimpse of the attractions to come, airshow rehearsals are expected in the skies over Milwaukee from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. July 22.

Navy Keeps Next Generation Fighter Research Costs Classified For Third Consecutive Budget Cycle

Events at the Air and Water Show are held along and over Lake Michigan from Bradford Beach to McKinley Beach, just north of downtown Milwaukee.

Admission to the air show is free. But to get closer to the action, there are several unique seating options along McKinley Park, just south of McKinley Beach. Tickets for the Centerpoint area near McKinley Beach are $10.50 to $36.75 per day. Seats in the Sunday Flight Line area start at just $15.75, and Sky-Chalet VIP seats range from $36.75 to $183.75. Tickets are available on the airshow website at mkeairwatershow.com and will be available at the box office at the event grounds starting July 22.

According to the airshow website, reserved lakefront parking for the event is already sold out. But Rogers pointed out that Milwaukee County Parks Meadows should have parking from McKinley Marina south to Veterans Park. Venues open at 7:30am both days. There is also parking in the O'Donnell Park structure across from the Milwaukee Art Museum and street parking in surrounding neighborhoods. In addition, Rogers said there are handicapped parking spaces designated by the Sheriff's Department along Lincoln Memorial Drive.

The Milwaukee Air & Water Show goes on regardless of the weather, but if certain weather conditions are present, such as dangerous wave conditions or low visibility, some acts may pull the plug. (The latter forced the cancellation of some operations in 2019 and caused the Thunderbirds to scale back their performance in 2018.)

The Blue Angels, scheduled to be the finale of both days of the air show, will take wing at 3 p.m. July 23-24. Rogers noted that the Angels were flying new F/A-18 Super Hornets during the visit to Milwaukee. This is the first time the Blue Angels have performed at the Milwaukee Air Show since 2017. (For Blue Angels fans, Rogers said reservations are already in place for the 2023 Milwaukee Air & Water Show, scheduled for July 22-23, 2023.)

The B-29 Dock History Restored Tour will stop in Milwaukee before heading to EAA AirVenture in Oshkosh next week. A restored World War II Superfortress — one of only two still flying, Rogers said — will be at Milwaukee Mitchell International Airport, where you can take part in the B-29 Dock Flight Experience July 21-23. Can travel with history. (Tickets start at $600. See

(For details.) Before heading to Oshkosh, the B-29 will make its debut at the Milwaukee Air Show.

In addition to the Blue Angels and restored B-29s, there will be more than a dozen aerial acts showing off their wares throughout the weekend. Among them:

F 4 Phantom: The Us Navy's Best Combat Plane Ever?

Seven acts are scheduled to perform on both mornings of the Milwaukee Air & Water Show, including Badgerland and the Muskego Waterbugs water ski team.

NAVY AIR STATION NORTH ISLAND, Calif. — The Navy is making the first major changes to a carrier air wing in a generation. The service just concluded the first carrier deployment of F-35C Lightning II Joint Strike Fighters — the first new fighter jet on the carrier in 20 years — and is a few years away from introducing the first unmanned aircraft to the air wing.

But while the Navy is moving forward with new platforms and methods of combat, it still wrestles with a maintenance gap and a fighter inventory that is too small to deploy and train effectively. After more than two decades of providing close air support for combat operations in the Middle East and Central Asia, the service is shifting its strategy to focus on the Indo-Pacific, where carrier air wings operate. It is a wide area.

In an interview with the USNI last month, Vice Admiral Kenneth Whitsell, commander of Naval Air Forces and Naval Air Forces Pacific, expressed a vision for future transitions and integration of fourth- and fifth-generation aircraft into a future carrier air wing. Sixth generation systems.

Whitecell will also focus on fixing the backlog of Super Hornets, which are waiting to enter a service life modification program that will upgrade the aircraft and extend their service life. applying lessons from the first F-35C deployment to inform the future of carrier aviation; and ensuring that it has enough fighters to meet its air wing requirements until 2025.

"We have a [master aviation plan]. We have a strategy and a funding component. We worked with NAVAIR last week to manage the program — for N98 funding coordination," he said. "As we build the MAP, we're going to see roughly where our deployments are and the modifications that need to be made to the carrier and the modifications that the air wing itself needs to be compatible," Whitesell said in a recent interview in his office. What needs to be done to accept — the capabilities, [command and control], all the systems align. So I'm very happy — I'm right about where the strategy is right now.

From modernizing the fourth-generation F/A-18E-F Super Hornets, to the ongoing integration of F-35Cs into the carrier air wing, to emphasizing cost-saving measures in 2022, Whitesell says the U.S. Naval aviation is on a path. To close the fighter gap over the next three years, to achieve new mission capability rate targets at an affordable cost.

"We can't get the bottom line at the price we're paying today. We have to squeeze capabilities. And that's the focus for naval aviation in 2022, the cost shift," Whitesell told Mission Capable. said, referring to the mission. Rates used by the Navy to estimate the readiness of its aircraft.

But Congress is skeptical of the service's math on its strike fighter shortage, saying the Navy could phase it out by 2025, five years earlier than expected.

The Navy's future carrier air wing will include a mix of fourth- and fifth-generation aircraft, with F-35Cs and Super Hornets making up the strike fighter fleet. Deployment of the latest F-35C on the USS.

(CVN-70) — the first fifth-generation aviation deployment on a carrier — consisted of a squadron of 10 aircraft, so the Navy could quickly deploy the F-35.

"The initial driver is currently achieving maximum capacity on fifth-generation platforms in the Western Pacific," Whitesell said.

That's why the next Navy F-35C deployment of VFA-97's "Warhawks" from Naval Air Station Lemoore, Calif., will include 14 aircraft — the number currently planned for the F-35C squadron.

"As Lockheed Martin continues to build, there is a possibility of going up to 20 total [Joint Strike Fighters] deployed on a single carrier," Whitesell said. "And now we have to decide how we build the JSF." Going, is it going to be one squadron or is it going to be two squadrons or [next-generation air superiority] is going to come faster."

With the Air Wing likely to increase the number of F-35Cs and EA-18G Growlers, Whitesell suggested considering several factors — including the carrier's "deck density," the MQ-25A Stingray unmanned Planned introduction of tanker to air wing, new Ford-class aircraft carriers and 20 F-35Cs. Manning needs to execute.
